Tribus Mail has been released

7 August 2011

Tribus Mail, the latest Drupal Mailing List management solution, has now been released. Built from the ground up for Drupal 7 and beyond, it provides integrated Mailing List functionality as a Drupal module.

Tribus Mail has been contributed to the Drupal community, and is currently awaiting review. As of August 2011 The Drupal module review queue is about 40 weeks long, so in the meantime you can download the module here, and view the documentation.

New Feature: Background processing mode

9 September 2011

Tribus Mail now has the option to either send newsletter emails in Immediate or in Background mode. Immediate mode can be used in instances where there are no email sending restrictions, for instance when used on an internal server. Background mode uses cron to send emails in batches, and can be throttled. This mode is typically used with websites hosted with ISP's that have limitations on the number of emails that are allowed to be sent in a certain timeframe.

Use custom user field(s) to generate subscriber names

21 August 2011

Tribus Mail is now able to use custom user fields when registering users as subscribers. Previously the Drupal user name would be used as the subscriber's name, but now any combination of custom fields (for example first name and last name) can be used to generate the subscriber's name. This lets you send personalised email newsletters addressed to proper names rather than usernames which may not be meaningful.

Embedded views development now completed

17 August 2011

The option of embedding views in newsletter content is now available. This powerful feature means that pretty much any content from your website can now be included in newsletters. The most obvious content would be "new postings in the last x number of days", but any content that can be displayed via a view can be included in newsletters.
